This was such an easy going, casual newborn session and I loved every minute of it. The family had music playing in the background, their doggies got to come and hang out, and we just went with the flow. I just love how flexible and low stress in-home newborn sessions are, and hopefully the parents feel the same way! I try to prepare parents by letting them know that they don’t need to clean (we just move whatever needs to be moved), there is no stress if baby cries (all babies do!) or needs a feeding break (that always happens) or a diaper change, and we just take things as they come. No biggie. There is no rush and no need to keep baby asleep the whole session.

The peace and joy in this family was extremely sweet. There was no doubt that their love was so strong for their new addition. It is and was such a beautiful thing to witness. I love seeing how small babies are in their daddy’s arms, how delicately they are held, and how their parents just breathe them in, taking in these fleeting moments. There is nothing like this time in life! It passes by way too quickly and it is so easy to forget those little details. Usually it is only photographs that we have that can transport us back to those memories, even bringing other senses back. Don’t put off setting up a photo session, no matter your stage in life.
