"Babies are such a nice way to start people."
It was supposed to rain on the morning of this photoshoot, but it didn't. The sun came out for a good hour and a half, right as I was taking pictures of this lovely family and their sweet little newborn baby, and then it rained. It was beautiful, and it was also beautiful to watch these doting parents and siblings take care of their brand new baby. Big brother and big sister beamed with pride as they got to count toes, give a bottle, hold their sister, and admire all of her tiny, delicate features.
I have my own three month old, so I haven't been out of the newborn stage for long, but there is something about holding a newborn that is just so special and brings a sense of awe. Having a newborn in your home can be magical. Yes, it is incredibly hard and so exhausting and demanding, and you feel like you are just in survival mode (I still feel that way a lot of days), but they usually bring an added sense of peace to your home and family and this little babe seemed to do just that. Nothing is sweeter.
Time can be such a thief. So quickly is this newborn stage gone. Their tiny squeaks vanish. Pretty soon they aren't as snuggly. They start becoming so mobile and grow out of their adorable teeny diapers and newborn size clothes....and you never get this stage again. Having pictures of them (and you) during this time is so important to keep all these memories alive.
