I was absolutely thrilled when this family contacted me to take pictures at the airport of their daughter coming home after spending a year and a half in Bolivia on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After only having weekly emails and twice a year phone calls as their communication to one another, you can just imagine how excited they were to see her. Her older siblings weren't able to make it, but her younger brothers and parents were there. She had requested that only immediate family be present. Her younger brothers were so sweet and made their own "Welcome Home" posters for her. So much time and thought went into them and they were so proud of their creations. Her flight arrival time kept showing more delays, which is a killer when you haven't seen a person for so long, especially your own daughter or sister. Luckily, it all worked out and she and her luggage had no issues getting home.
I've known this family for seven years now and interacted with their daughter when she was in her early teens. They are definitely some of my favorite people! It was such an honor to witness the anticipation, joy, and love shown when they saw each other again. You can tell that she is close with her family and they were all so happy to have her safely home. I can't wait to see what the future holds for her. She has so much good coming her way!
