Roseville Family Photographer | A Boy Gets to Explore
"Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe,
and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."
-A. A. Milne
My second oldest turned 7 recently, so I went out with my photographer friend and took some updated pictures of him. Besides the fact that there were so many mosquitoes around and I got about 15 bites in that short time we were outside, it was the perfect night. The light was beautiful and spring was beginning to show. It filled my creative soul to take these pictures of him and it also filled my mommy heart to spend this time with him. He is happiest when he is outside, able to explore and do his thing. He is growing up so quickly and I am reminded how much time is such a thief. I am so grateful that photographs have the ability to capture time as it was and all those milestones that seem to pass in a blink of an eye. I love the beginnings of a jack-o-lantern smile (he has already lost another tooth since these pictures were taken and has two more loose teeth), I love how he finds the smallest details around him and sees the beauty in them, I love his silly laugh that I can almost hear in this picture, and I love love love all those amazing freckles that dot his sweet face. I am the luckiest to be his mama and I am grateful to learn so much about love, empathy, forgiveness, and adventure from him.
